With a strong reputation for inclusivity and a mission to improve the lives of our students, staff, and partners, DMU serves as a hub for cutting-edge research and practical learning. Our thriving, supportive community is driven by values of excellence, integrity, and responsibility, fostering an environment where everyone is encouraged to achieve their potential and contribute to positive social impact.
Faculty / Directorate
Our Strategic Planning and Insight Directorate plays a critical role in guiding DMU’s future, offering robust data analysis and market insights that shape the institution’s vision. By monitoring and interpreting educational trends, both nationally and internationally, the directorate supports DMU’s academic and operational goals. This team provides essential expertise in understanding market dynamics and student needs, contributing to strategies that empower the university to grow sustainably and succeed in an evolving higher education landscape.
Role
As the Market Research and Data Manager, you will support the Associate Director of Portfolio and Market Insight to lead DMU’s market insight initiatives, overseeing the development and execution of data-driven strategies that influence the university’s product and recruitment objectives. This role requires a keen ability to interpret complex datasets, guiding senior leadership through evidence-based insights on market trends, student preferences, and institutional benchmarks. In addition to leading a team of analysts, you will be responsible for conducting market segmentation, competitor analysis, and predictive modelling, all of which inform DMU’s strategic decisions on both UK and international recruitment fronts. You will also collaborate with departments across the university to ensure cohesive planning and alignment with DMU’s broader goals.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a strategic leader with a strong background in market research, ideally within the higher education sector, who combines analytical acumen with excellent interpersonal skills. You will possess extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, along with proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS and Excel. Proven success in influencing stakeholders and delivering actionable insights is essential, as is a commitment to fostering collaborative relationships across departments. With a focus on supporting DMU’s mission, you will bring forward-thinking approaches to market insights, helping shape the university’s trajectory in a competitive global market. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
