About the Role
The School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London has a vacancy for a Digital Learning Technologist. The purpose of this role is to ensure that our staff and students receive excellent support in their use of digital technologies for learning, teaching and assessment. This post is responsible for driving and supporting digital learning innovation and development and the continued maintenance of core learning and support systems essential to the successful delivery and continuous improvement in the quality of our programmes.
About You
You will need to have authoritative knowledge of the key principles of technology-enhanced learning, experience of using virtual learning environments (Moodle expertise desirable) at administrator, designer, instructor and user levels. Experience delivering educational development and training in the effective use of learning technologies is required. You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to communicate sympathetically with staff and students of different backgrounds and knowledge of learning technology. You will need to be someone who is interested in the field and proactive in finding new innovative ways to enhance our educational delivery.

We teach a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that focus on the core areas of Pure and Applied Mathematics. With over 80 academic staff, we are one of the largest Mathematics departments in the UK, so our students have the opportunity to explore and develop skills in a wide range of mathematical fields.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of November/December 2024. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £43,305 - £50,685 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
