Lecturer (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist) (Education and Scholarship)

This part-time post (30% fte) is available immediately on a fixed term contract to 31 July 2026 in the Clinical Education Development and Research (CEDAR) team within Psychology.

The role

The successful applicant will contribute to the aims of the MSc in Psychological Therapies, the Doctorate in Clinical Practice and Clinical Training programmes. They will be responsible to the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Portfolio Director for the delivery and leadership of the psychoanaltytic research programme within the Doctor of Clinical Practice Research programme, MSc & Clinical Training programme.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

• Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline
• Good honours degree (or equivalent)
• Professional Doctorate or PhD British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) registered clinical qualification as at a minimum level of training as Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist.or in training and close to qualifying.
• Membership of a BPC member institution.
• Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
• Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
• Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
• Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
