Summary of the role
The University is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Governance Support Services within the Division of University Corporate Services (UCS) to play a pivotal role in the continuous improvement and enhancement of the University’s Governance Support Services.
We require a senior and experienced governance professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail, the ability to adapt and respond to a fast-changing environment, and work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines and competing priorities to help manage the operational workflow of the governance team.
This is a newly created role and the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Director (Governance) in delivering high-quality secretarial services to Council committees and instilling best practice governance principles. The Deputy Head of Governance Support Services will provide specialist governance support and undertake governance projects as directed by the Assistant Director (Governance) to enable continuous enhancement of processes and ensure effective and efficient governance across the University’s Council committees. The role holder will help manage the operational workflow of the governance team and be responsible for delivering professional secretarial support for committees of Council (including Finance and Investment Committee and Audit and Risk Committee) and related governance activities.
