Product Owner - SITS (Higher Education Student Information System)

We are currently looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our team that can contribute to the creation, development and maintenance of Tribal’s product portfolio.  

The Role  

The role of Product Owner contributes to the creation, development and maintenance of Tribal’s product portfolio, by taking product requirements and driving product delivery through leadership of the day to day development activities.  

What are we looking for?   

  • We’re looking for a motivated, creative and diligent professional ideally with good knowledge and experience of translating the product vision, business strategy and customer requirements into software features and product functionality   
  • Good understanding and experience of working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with development teams to prepare and prioritise features, determining the order of stories in the feature backlog and regularly reviewing in a manner that fits with the logistics of quarterly planning and regular backlogs 
  • Manage the product backlogs to ensure that the product roadmaps, contractual commitments and statutory requirements are met   
  • Ability to provide key functional knowledge and direction, taking ownership of solutions and capabilities.   
  • Ability to prioritise considering multiple factors and explaining decisions to key stakeholders 
  • Ability to research customer personas, problems and solutions which can then be formulated into proposed approaches   

Key Skills and Attributes:  

  • Good knowledge and experience of maintaining software roadmaps developing business, technical and/or functional requirements  
  • Good understanding and experience of working with development sprint teams  
  • Good written communication skills including writing technical and business requirement documents e.g. User stories, Business Requirements, Functional requirements  
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to be able to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients  
  • Demonstrable experience of relevant product implementation within higher education or similar is desirable but not essential
