The post
The Department of Health and Community Science wishes to recruit a Senior Research Fellow or Research Fellow to the Getting Recovery Right After Neck Dissection for Head and Neck Cancer (GRRAND) study, a National Institute of Health Research funded randomised controlled clinical trial. This trial evaluates clinical and cost-effectiveness of a personalised, physiotherapy-led, rehabilitation intervention (the GRRAND programme) compared to best practice NHS, post-discharge care for adults undergoing neck dissection for head and neck cancer. Using mixed method approaches the successful applicant will evaluate physiotherapists’ training experiences; monitor fidelity of intervention delivery (by physiotherapists) and engagement and uptake (by patients) to inform what works for whom and in what contexts.

About you
Applicants will possess a relevant degree, or PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. They will have relevant clinically applied health research experience and ideally possess in-depth understanding of musculoskeletal and/or surgical rehabilitation. They will work collaboratively with Professor Sarah Dean and the wider GRRAND research team to apply their qualitative and quantitative research skills and any clinical experience in the evaluation of this complex exercise-based rehabilitation intervention.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification (available on the university's website, accessed by the 'Apply' button) for full details of this role.
