We are seeking to appoint a 1.0 FTE Teaching Intensive Departmental Director of Field School and Lecturer in Archaeology.
You will manage and deliver the Field School and other field classes, support the management of the post-excavation tasks generated by field school activity, and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in fieldwork, post-excavation, and employability (including volunteering and placement schemes). You will also manage the staff employed to support the Field School activities.

This post is ideally intended to run from 10th February 2025, or by negotiation. There are no specified hours of work but you will be required to work such hours as are necessary to carry out duties associated with the post. The Field School currently runs in June–July and/or August. Overtime is not payable.
The Department of Archaeology is part of the School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Science (SAGES). The School and the Department have an established reputation for delivering a diverse range of student-centred degree programmes at the cutting edge of disciplinary knowledge.
You will report to the Head of Department and also receive guidance from the Programme Director, the Department Director of Teaching and Learning, the Field School academic lead, the Head of School and the School Director of Teaching and Learning. You will be assigned a mentor who will provide support and guidance during the initial period of your appointment.
