We are looking for a number of committed, enthusiastic teachers with experience of teaching EAP to join our team for the summer Pre-sessional English (PSE) Programme to teach both face-to-face and online from the University of Reading campus.

The International Study and Language Institute (ISLI) has been one of the University’s fifteen academic Schools since 2013, and it has a longstanding reputation for its expertise in English language teaching and assessment. Our PSE Programme is accredited by BALEAP and takes a genre approach as well as an integrated approach to developing academic language skills.

We offer a competitive teacher package:

You will have: compulsory

  • A first degree or equivalent and Cambridge DELTA or equivalent; OR a postgraduate qualification with a practical teaching component (e.g. PGCE) in EAP, ELT, EFL, ELT, Applied Linguistics or equivalent; OR a postgraduate qualification (e.g. MA) in EAP, EFL, ELT, Applied Linguistics or equivalent plus Cambridge CELTA or equivalent.
  • The ability to teach a range of levels (IELTS 4.5-7.0).
  • The ability to teach core EAP skills (incl. implementing a genre informed syllabus).
  • The ability to use a range of online platforms and tools to teach lessons, assess student work and deliver feedback.

Dates
PSE F (10 weeks): Wednesday 25th June to Friday 5th September 2025.
PSE G (6 weeks): Wednesday 23rd July to Friday 5th September 2025.

Pay
£38,205 per annum pro rata.
Teachers will normally be paid on the last working day of each month. If teachers join after the payroll deadline, they will be paid in the following month.

Closing date: 21st July 2025

Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis until positions are filled.
