We have an opportunity for a Research Associate to develop research, knowledge exchange and impact activities in the field of place-based work. The role will complement the activities of the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s Place-based Research Programme. This Programme works with partners from across the United Kingdom and internationally to develop a programme around new and existing investments; to demonstrate the effectiveness of arts and humanities research for addressing the needs of different locales, and to help to make the case for further investment.
The role requires expert knowledge in the methods and approaches of the arts and humanities and how this can contribute to place-based policies and practices. Particular subject expertise includes a theoretical/conceptual knowledge of place, people-centred approaches to place, working with non-academic partners, and a detailed awareness of various place-based policies and practices across the four nations of the United Kingdom and internationally.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Professor Rebecca Madgin: rebecca.madgin@glasgow.ac.uk
