About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Sanders Group as a Programme Manager. The Sanders Group, led by Dr. Stephan Sanders, a Professor of Paediatric Neurogenetics, focuses on genetic causes of neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders with the goal of developing cutting-edge genetic therapies for these disorders with bench-to-bedside programs that include bioinformatics, functional genomics, neurobiology, and therapeutic development.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for managing international collaborative projects in the Sanders Group. We envisage this role to be a combination of administrative duties (e.g., coordinating meetings, setting agendas, communicating action points, monitoring milestones, managing budgets) and scientific contribution (e.g., setting lab strategy, working on scientific manuscripts, assisting in progress reports and grant applications).
This position is offered full-time on a fixed term contract for two years.

About you
You will be passionate about science, take pride in excellent organizational skills, and enjoy working in team environments. Effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders is essential and you will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and high computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office. You will possess excellent time-management and problem-solving abilities, and ability to handle challenges calmly and independently. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously is important.
Application process
You will be asked to upload a CV and a supporting statement as part of your online application. We recommend that the supporting statement is formatted as a one or two-page letter addressed to Drs Sanders and Rinaldi which describes 1) how your skills and experience meet each of the selection criteria for the post. This may include experience gained in employment, education, or during career breaks (such as time out to care for dependents), 2) your interest in this field of research, and 3) explanations for career breaks, dramatic shifts in field of research, substantive prior postdoctoral experience, or similar.
