The University of Roehampton London is recruiting to the role of Technician to join our AV Resources and Technical team. This is an exciting time to join our technical service as we embark on a new integrated University wide technical team where the post holder will have the opportunity to make an impact within the central University technical service and within the newly opened School of Education and the Sustainable Engineering and Technology Education Centre (SETEC).

This post is available full time but part time / job share would be considered.

ARE YOU?

  • Ready to challenge yourself whilst using your knowledge and skills in general workshop practices to support the practical learning of students in our technology environments.
  • Ambitious and willing to contribute and develop your own technical skills in our newly-established engineering and technology centre.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM.
  • Familiar with a variety of DT and food technology equipment and machinery.
  • Enthusiastic, organised and willing to support a busy team in a technical environment.
  • Able to troubleshoot and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible and proactive with a hands-on approach.

  • Support the delivery of practical learning in workshops and labs across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Display a good working knowledge of health and safety in a technical environment.
  • Be part of a community of technicians.
