The role

The School of Chemistry is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and highly motivated person to support the delivery and development of digital education enhancements to improve the student experience.

This is a new role and offers an exciting opportunity to play a frontline role in collaborating with course directors to support and create high-quality digital curriculum resources for use in teaching and learning.

We would like to hear from candidates who understand the design and production of digital content underpinned by pedagogy and have excellent organisational skills which enable them to ensure staff and students receive excellent guidance and support in their use of digital technologies for learning, teaching and assessment.

What will you be doing?

  • The role holder will also take responsibility for development of digital education enhancements to improve the student experience
  • Working in partnership with professional services staff across the School / Faculty and members of the DEO team to support and enhance the use of digital technologies and systems used for teaching, learning and assessment 
  • The post holder will provide front line support, providing advice and answering queries and creating a range of innovative and contemporary guidance and information resources supporting digital education.  

You should apply if

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Enthusiasm, knowledge and experience of using and supporting technology in an educational setting
  • Experience of working with a virtual or other enterprise level digital learning environment, including for assessment and feedback
  • You can complete tasks to a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently, and apply specialist knowledge to provide solutions
  • You can use a range of IT systems and can adapt to new systems and processes quickly.

Desirable skills:

  • Any experience of working in educational technology in Further or Higher Education

Additional information

Work pattern: Ideally, we are seeking someone to fill the role on a full-time basis. However, we are open to considering part-time applications as well.

Contract type: Open ended with fixed funding until 31st January 2026
