Research Assistant

Contract type: Fixed-term until 30^th September 2026

Working pattern: Part-time, working 21 hours per week

The Department of Sociological Studies is looking to recruit a part-time, fixed-term Research Assistant.

You will work with Professor Akwugo Emejulu on the Co-Creating Inclusive Intersectional Democratic Spaces Across Europe (CCINDLE) project.

As Research Assistant you will analyse social media data, parliamentary debates, undertake interviews and focus groups with feminist activists and policymakers and write reports synthesising this data which explores feminist responses to the crisis of democracy in England and Scotland.

You should have a PhD or be in the process of submitting a PhD in a relevant Social Science or interdisciplinary field. Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of using NVivo software is essential.
