The Department of Architecture is seeking a Project Co-ordinator to undertake the day-to-day management of the Cambridge Room, a space in the heart of the community. The Cambridge Room is a research project which is exploring inclusive community consultation in planning in the Cambridgeshire area (see www.cambridgeroom.org). The Cambridge Room has recently been awarded Charitable status and the co-ordinator will play a key role in helping support its transition into a charity. This is a part-time, fixed-term role with initial funding for 12 months. It is funded by a grant held in the University of Cambridge.

Working alongside two research associates, the role-holder will manage the Cambridge Room space, co-ordinate the efficient running of the project, create and maintain documents, co-ordinate events, interns and student volunteers and support the Principal Investigator (PI) in order to ensure the smooth running and success of the project.

Examples of day-to-day work include facilities management, risk assessments, 1:1 meetings, managing project documentation, preparing financial reports for stakeholders, arranging event logistics, including workshops with schools, and establishing, developing and maintaining appropriate administrative systems and procedures.

The role-holder will liaise with a range of stakeholders, including members of the public, students, and colleagues within a range of institutions across Cambridgeshire. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a pro-active approach will ensure that the diverse workload is enjoyable and fulfilling.

It is an exciting time to join the Department, and the wider research community within the School of Arts and Humanities and University as we head towards REF2029.
