Are you an experienced senior finance professional and a strong communicator who demonstrates effective leadership skills and champions a compliance culture? This job could be just for you.

This is a key leadership role that will make an impactful difference to our finance controls and compliance culture and environment.

You will lead on deeply embedding financial compliance throughout the University and continually enhancing our financial control environment, and will implement and drive forward a proactive financial compliance strategy. You need to have an excellent practical understanding of what a strong control environment should look like, how to embed this, and be able to drive forward best practice.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Finance department, and with senior colleagues outside of the department. Strong influencing skills are therefore essential. This role will be a key relationship point for internal audit and lead on ensuring audit recommendations are implemented and embedded on an ongoing basis. An 'in-house internal auditor' (Head of Financial Assurance) compliments work undertaken by internal and external audit, and reports into this role.
