The Role:
As the Curriculum Director of Adult Skills, you will provide strategic leadership for our adult education programs. You will lead academic staff, fostering high aspirations and standards. The role involves making the curriculum responsive and relevant to students and the community, backed by outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment. You will set challenging targets, foster a supportive environment, and represent the College externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Adult Skills curriculum to ensure it is dynamic, coherent, and balanced.
  • Create a culture of high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Establish challenging targets for student outcomes and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Drive excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Ensure quality assurance and improvement policies are effective.
  • Embed effective analysis of student performance data to inform development planning.
  • Provide strategic leadership for English and mathematics across the college.
  • Lead the implementation of robust systems for value-added data.
  • Ensure students receive appropriate enrichment opportunities, including employability skills.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within curriculum areas.
  • Ensure strategies and operational plans are in place for student enrichment opportunities, including work exposure and employability skills.
  • Capture and act upon student feedback to improve the student experience continually.

  • Experienced leader with a strong background in further education.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven track record in curriculum innovation and improvement.
  • Passionate advocate for adult education with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
