About The Role

Join the dynamic Applied Photochemistry and Circular Economy Group, led by Prof. Matthew Davies, within the renowned Materials Science and Engineering Department at Swansea University. Our team is dedicated to enhancing the sustainability of energy technologies, with a special focus on innovative methods for recycling and recovering critical materials from end-of-life renewable energy products, such as photovoltaic solar panels.

We are seeking a highly skilled expert in sol-gel chemistry, particularly in the development and processing of metal oxides. The ideal candidate will have specialist knowledge in Near-Infrared (NIR) sintering and a strong background in ultra-high temperature processing. As a key member of our team, you will become the group's expert in NIR processing techniques, providing training and support to new users, ensuring they can apply these cutting-edge methods effectively.

In addition to technical expertise, this role involves managing active collaborations with the University of Birmingham and driving the development of new partnerships, particularly in the field of ceramic coatings for energy applications. Your work will contribute to advancing recycling and recovery methods for these coatings, helping to push the boundaries of sustainable energy technologies.
