We are seeking candidates for the role of Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care to lead the development of placements and volunteering opportunities for our students along with contributing to the provision of our Health and Social Care and Public Health degree programmes. Experience of teaching and developing placements is essential and candidates with a research profile are welcomed.

To be successful in the Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care role you will:

  • Plan, design, lead and deliver teaching in relevant discipline areas.
  • Undertake student tutoring and support.
  • Have a good understanding and experience developing placements and volunteering opportunities in Health and Social Care and Public Health.
  • Conduct individual scholarly and/or professional practice-based projects including enterprise that contributes to the profile of the Faculty.
  • To contribute to the research profile of the Faculty including enterprise
  • To carry out other activities in support of the academic work of the Faculty.
  • Engagement in cross department, Institute of Faculty roles as appropriate and in agreement with post holder – e.g. catalyst, champion, committee representative etc. and assist with outreach, engagement and recruitment activities.
  • Lead on awards/programmes and modules in the subject area.
  • Be willing to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Education if not already achieved.
  • Have a proven track record of academic expertise in the subject areas of public health, health studies and/or health and social care practice.
  • Have an awareness of teaching and learning methodologies, and demonstrate enthusiasm for innovative teaching and supporting the development of learners.
