This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast as a Lecturer in Biopharmaceutical Engineering. The role is central to advancing the School’s mission to deliver world-class education and impactful research in bio/pharmaceutical engineering, contributing to our reputation for excellence on both a national and global scale.
The purpose of the role is to lead the newly established MSc in Biopharmaceutical Engineering, delivering innovative and research-led teaching that prepares students for the evolving demands of the biopharmaceutical industry. You will design and deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate education that integrates emerging technologies and industry-aligned skills, such as digital twin technology, to enhance student employability and ensure alignment with sector needs.
As part of a vibrant and multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with academic leaders, such as Professor Panagiotis Manesiotis, on research initiatives that blend academic rigor with real-world impact. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, with opportunities to build strong networks with industrial partners, national and international collaborators, and within the University’s dynamic research environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s strategic goals by developing high-quality research, securing funding, and publishing in leading journals. You will also play a key role in mentoring students and staff, supporting their personal and professional development, and engaging in leadership and administrative activities to enhance the School’s operations and outreach.
