The Library of LSE is a National Research Library, supporting the research and teaching of LSE as well as social science research beyond the School. The Library is heavily involved in delivering LSE’s new research strategy, Research for the World, including championing open research practices in the social sciences. LSE is also an active member of CIVICA, an alliance of the ten leading European higher education institutions in the social sciences, humanities, business management and public policy.

This part-time post is based in Open Research Services and will work across the CIVICA alliance to build capacity to support Open Research in the social sciences in Europe. The post holder will work closely with the Open Research Librarian to develop an Open Research Community within LSE and link this community to others at CIVICA institutions across the alliance. They will also support colleagues at other institutions to build capacity within their institutions and link those supporting open research in a cross-CIVICA community.

Candidates should have experience handling enquiries and communicating with researchers, including the ability to convey complex information clearly. Additionally, you will be able to exercise initiative within your own area of work and have an awareness of when to involve colleagues. You will be expected to develop knowledge of open research and stay up to date with a changing policy landscape.
