Working Pattern:

Part-time, working 20 hours per week, working every Saturday 10:30 am - 6pm plus 2 days 9 am -5 pm and 9-4 during the week (days to be confirmed with successful candidate)

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in the Library Information & Advisory Team (LIAT). this role will see you playing a significant role in the development and management of library services, while still being a key part in their practical delivery. In this varied and dynamic role you will manage a small team and coordinate the day to day operations of a service area within LIAT.  You will primarily work on the weekend team and therefore you will need to be available to work on site every Saturday 10.30-6pm) plus 2 days 9 am -5 pm and 9-4 during the week (days to be confirmed with successful candidate)

Using your experience of working as the first point of contact in a busy face to face and/or virtual environment, you will coordinate the provision of high-quality information advice services to library customers resolving a broad range of library enquiries both face to face and remotely (via email, chat, phone and text) through participation in service rotas across staffed service hours.

Using your excellent IT skills including knowledge of Windows and other Microsoft Office applications, alongside Google apps you will use the library management system and other library systems to assign work across the team, overcoming any technical issues and liaising with other library sites to ensure that staffing resources are deployed effectively and that all rotas are covered.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade C (level 4 to 5) and above including Maths and English, or equivalent. Experience of line management including recruitment, training and performance management is desirable but not essential.
