The Research Operations Office is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Finance Analyst - Research and Grants on a permanent basis.

This is a finance administrative role providing support for departments and existing advisors in the management of their research grants. The University's research projects generate annual income of over £500m per annum. Our team is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance and for financially administering research funding, on behalf of academics and Departments within the University's Schools.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in the area of research administration. Your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Providing procedural and financial advice and guidance to academic and departmental staff on a range of financial administration matters.
  2. Setting up and monitoring research grant budgets against expenditure You will be able to demonstrate excellent numeracy, communications and organisational skills and a positive, customer-oriented approach.

In addition, the post provides a first line of expertise and guidance on more complex administrative issues for the Finance Analysts - Research and Grants within the Research Operations Office, contributing to training needs and workload management for a given team.

Our teams work in a busy office environment, so you must be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines. Proficiency in using Windows based packages is essential, and knowledge of Oracle Financials would be advantageous.
