The Optoelectronics Group of the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge, invites applications for a Research Assistant to work on an ERC Advanced Grant led by Professor Henning Sirringhaus.
The project is focused on studying the thermoelectric physics of organic semiconductors and related functional materials. The project is aiming to achieve a fundamental understanding of how the charge transport and thermoelectric properties of organic semiconductors can be enhanced. The role holder is expected to lead the characterisation of the thermoelectric physics by temperature transport and magnetic resonance measurements.
You will be expected to participate actively in collaborations with other researchers and PhD students working on related projects, as well as national and international partners. You will have a strong background in semiconductor physics and experience in temperature dependent transport measurements on organic semiconductors. The post will provide the opportunity to enroll in the PhD programme at the Department of Physics.
You will have completed a Masters-level degree in a relevant field such as Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related disciplines.
You must provide the names and contact details of two referees who are familiar with your work/studies in the relevant field.
You will need to meet all prerequisites for admission to the PhD programme in the Department of Physics (please refer to: https://www.phy.cam.ac.uk/admissions/postgraduate/degreesoffered/phdinphysics).
If you register as a full-time PhD student at the University and study for the degree, you may apply to pay staff rate tuition fees for the PhD
