About the role
The postholder will be primarily based at our Royal Free campus but will also be required to cover our Stanmore and Bloomsbury campuses if need arises.
The main purpose of this role is to provide teaching, training and support to all staff, students, visitors and external users as required. The postholder will provide full laboratory support to all Academic staff and students of the Division. The Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is an exciting and dynamic environment, and this post provides an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to develop and expand on a laboratory-based career.
Role specific details:
• This role is available from 22 July 2024 until 20 December 2024 in the first instance. • This is an internal secondment role as well, available to current UCL staff only. - ‘Salary is £34,605 - £39,980 per annum inclusive of London Allowance – UCL Grade 6.’ This is a fixed-term role until 20 De cember 2024 in the first instance.

About you
The postholder must have a good general education, ideally to BSc or MSc level or equivalent or having acquired substantial relevant experience using and maintaining imaging and physiochemical characterisation equipment. Substantial experience of handling and preparing biological samples for analysis, substantial work experience in a research laboratory and a proven ability to teach laboratory techniques to students and advise on appropriate use of methodology and methodical problem solving are all essential.
