Job Summary 

The Business School Graphic Designer sits within the Brand and Marketing team, part of Institutional Marketing and Communications, and leads on design services for the faculty. The purpose of the role is to provide design services which help to develop and drive the School’s brand proposition and support the School in enhancing its overall profile and achieving its recruitment targets. 

Duties and responsibilities 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Creating and delivering high-quality, on brand designs from initial concept through to delivery, working to a specific brief
  • Creating innovative and commercially effective campaigns, collateral, graphics, and digital assets for a variety of audiences, to promote the School and increase customer engagement across multiple touch points, with user experience at the core
  • Working with the Marketing team to evolve the School’s visual brand to meet the developing needs of the institution
  • Working with Marketing colleagues where necessary, manage the full project life cycle from internal brief through to usability and build / print production
  • Supporting the rollout and implementation of the new School visual identity
  • Collaborating with Marketing teams and other key stakeholders to drive best practice and learning for design and become the centre of design expertise within the School 

Essential requirements 

  • A degree in graphic design, visual arts / design or equivalent
  • Demonstrative track record of work across a range of media with a portfolio that supports this
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Experience working across all modern graphic design mediums: digital, social media, campaigns and printed materials including publications.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, layout and composition, and the ability to apply them effectively in various design projects.
  • Ability to interpret complex information, including copy and data, and turn it into understandable and engaging creative ideas
  • Experience of working creatively with brand guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and an attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with strong project management and organisational skills
  • Adaptable and flexible; ability to prioritise a high workload, to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • A friendly, ‘can do’ attitude and an ability to show initiative

Further Information

This role is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract.
