About the role:

The position of the CHEDDAR Research Hub Research Hub Digital Communications Officer (EPSRC Communications Hub CHEDDAR)presents a novel opportunity to work alongside Professor McCann and her UK wide Hub team in realizing their full potential and planning for the future.  CHEDDAR is a close collaboration of academics and researchers from Imperial, Cranfield, York, Leeds, Glasgow and Durham Universities as well as partners from industry. The partner list is expected to grow as the Hub activities commence.  Professor McCann is the PI of this currently 3-year EPSRC funded Hub.

What you would be doing:

The Research Hub Digital Communications Officer will be responsible for the on-going publicity, design and content creation of the EPSRC CHEDDAR Communications Hub under the direction of Professor McCann. The post holder will be expected to maintain the communication of Hub activities, through delivering engaging communications across various platforms, creating publications, newsletters and videos, managing content on the CHEDDAR website, social media and internal channels. You’ll be responsible to ensure our brand is consistently applied across all communications.

You will develop and lead on communications strategies for a technology focused organisation, knowledge of the Telecoms or Computing industries is an advantage. Working with websites, especially WordPress, is also an advantage.

What we are looking for:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience in the technology sector
  • Experience in web technologies, including content management systems
  • Experience of working to deadlines and under pressure
  • Experience of writing for and maintaining websites
  • Experience of working in an academic environment
  • Experience of technical writing
  • Strong IT skills, including a working knowledge of WordPress and content design software.
