Faculty / Directorate

The Centre for Primary Care Research (CfPCR) aims to deliver high-quality research that informs primary care development. It draws research strengths from De Montfort University and clinical expertise from the Willows Health primary care network in Leicester. The CfPCR aims to drive innovation for patient benefit through local, national and international research projects and has a strong tradition of participatory research with communities. The CfPCR also offers a vibrant research seminar series by academics and clinicians to promote critical thinking and patient care. An essential dimension of the CfPCR research activity is its contribution to developing the understanding of healthcare delivery. The CfPCR work is multidisciplinary and brings clinicians and researchers from health, artificial intelligence and data analytics.

Role

The CfPCR seeks a researcher with knowledge of participatory research designs and a background in qualitative/quantitative research methods to join the CfPCR team. We would welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in qualitative/quantitative research methods and knowledge of a range of participatory research approaches in health and social care, including behavioural sciences, community interventions, arts and culture engagement, social sciences, health, and humanities. Joining the CfPCR will provide you with a unique and stimulating experience. You will have the opportunity to conduct empirical research, analyse data, and prepare research reports. You will also collaborate with local communities in Leicester.

Ideal Candidate

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing research objectives, projects, and proposals that align with our health and social care research strategy and priorities. Your role will also involve conducting literature searches and critical reviews to support advancing research in health and social care, including writing up research and publishing the outcomes in high-impact, good-quality publications. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with a qualitative/quantitative background. The majority of research in health and social care is multidisciplinary and collaborative, and we value your contribution to this collective effort. You will have the opportunity to work with academics and other stakeholders outside of DMU, and some of your work will be linked to our international activities. This role, based at De Montfort University, will be under the supervision of the CfPCR Director, Professor Bertha Ochieng. Interviews will be held on Friday 26 July 2024.
