Are you an early career researcher looking for a new opportunity to develop your skills? Do you have a keen research interest in the phenomenon of state capture, and corruption more broadly, especially in low- and middle-income countries?
The GI ACE team are delighted to recruit this new, exciting role that will help to successfully deliver a research project examining the effectiveness of resistance strategies to and recovery from state capture.
As the research fellow attached to the state capture theme, you will help to design and carry out high-quality research (both desk-based and fieldwork) in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI) Liz Dávid-Barrett. You will also collaborate with external practitioners to ensure that the project is designed and implemented with maximum potential for effective sharing and impact.
You will produce excellent research outputs to be published in high-quality journals or monographs (or other formats as appropriate) and help to contribute the School’s Research Excellence Framework submissions.
You will deliver excellent engagement with the PI, Programme Director and other members of the GI ACE team in order to maximise the furtherance of the overall objectives of the programme.
In addition to joining GI ACE, you will benefit from a welcoming and friendly team atmosphere, working with colleagues in the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, the Centre for the Study of Corruption, and the wider Sussex community.
This is a hybrid role, with time work on campus to be agreed.
Please contact Liz Dávid-Barrett at e.david-barrett@sussex.ac.uk for informal enquiries.
