About the Role
Applications are invited for a British Heart Foundation-funded Postdoctoral Research Associate post to join the laboratory of Doctor Loïc Rolas within the Centre for Microvascular Research. This is a unique opportunity for enthusiastic early-career researchers to contribute to an emerging team that has already made important scientific impact, advancing our understanding of the complex relationship between vascular ageing and immune cells. Building on significant recent findings from the PI (e.g. Rolas et al., EMBO R 2024; Barkaway, Rolas et al., Immunity 2021), the present project aims to enhance our understanding of the role of endothelial cell senescence in the dysregulation of the immune response to various inflammatory insults. The proposed project holds significant pathophysiological relevance in the field of ageing and cardiovascular diseases.
About You
We seek outstanding, self-motivated, and ambitious junior researchers committed to pursuing a scientific career. Demonstrable experience in the field of inflammation, immunity, ageing, and/or vascular biology is desirable. Technical expertise in confocal microscopy and cell culture is essential. The ability to work with rodents would be advantageous.

Located at the Charterhouse Square Campus, the Centre for Microvascular Research is an internationally respected hub of vascular and inflammation research. It offers newly refurbished laboratories and a cutting-edge microscopy facility, making it ideal for high-impact research. The Charterhouse Square Campus is in the heart of the City of London and is close to the Barbican Art and Music Centre and St Paul’s Cathedral.
