An exciting opportunity has arisen to deliver education and training within the School of Pharmacy at the University of Huddersfield. We are a successful department offering excellent teaching and research facilities and are seeking to appoint an experienced pharmacy practitioner with a record of supporting education, training and professional development of the healthcare workforce to join the Pharmacy Department in the University of Huddersfield.
You must be a UK registered pharmacist and the post would suit both an experienced academic clinical practitioner (Senior Practitioner) or pharmacists wanting to start an academic career while maintaining their clinical practice (Practitioner). If you would like to use your skills and experience to make a real difference to the future of the profession, we look forward to hearing from you.
You will be responsible organising and delivering teaching and simulation for students on programmes for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and require the clinical experience to inform and inspire trainees to become excellent practitioners. They will contribute to the design and delivery of learning and teaching materials (including examinations). The post holder will co-ordinate and support the development of modules in degree programmes whilst liaising with Programme and Year tutors and those in other Subject Groups.
The Pharmacy Department is a great place to work with a supportive and collegiate environment and excellent research facilities. We are proud to hold a Silver Athena SWAN award, recognising our advancement in gender equality.
We provide an exciting, stimulating place to learn and work. Our standards of academic achievement are high, our environment is inspiring, and we embrace innovation in all that we do. With exceptional opportunities for staff development, our students are not the only ones who thrive here.
As a Practitioner, we expect you to be actively engaged in practice in addition to your role at the University. This can be either through paid employment with another employer, paid consultancy or freelance work.
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder on our website.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about the post, please contact Prof Barbara Conway, Head of Pharmacy (b.r.conway@hud.ac.uk) or Dr Alison Astles, Subject Lead for Pharmacy (A.M.Astles@hud.ac.uk).
