We have a very motivated core team already working on the project, with St George’s Medical School, University of London, acting as our sponsor.   We are now seeking to expand our team to develop and fully implement the MBBS programme.  Newly appointed staff will receive full support from our existing team.

Main duties and responsibilities
You will play a vital role in shaping the assessment strategies, policies, and processes of the new MBBS programme to ensure compliance with GMC standards, as well as driving excellence and innovation in assessment practices within the new medical school.  You will lead on the assessment function when adapting and adopting the St George’s curriculum to deliver at University of Hertfordshire.  You will lead the design, development, and implementation of a range of formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning outcomes and competencies, collaborating closely with the curriculum development team and liaising with external examiners, regulatory bodies, and the GMC to ensure that assessment practices meet regulatory standards and requirements for the approval of the new medical school.

Skills and experience required
The successful candidate will be able to evidence extensive experience in medical education and assessment within a higher education setting, with a deep understanding of assessment principles, methodologies, and best practices, and a proven track record in developing and implementing assessment policies and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and promote excellence in medical education.

You must have strong leadership and management skills, exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and empower a team of assessment professionals and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty members, students, and external partners.

Qualifications required
A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with full registration and licensure to practice medicine by the GMC.
