We have an exciting opportunity in the Chemical & Biological Engineering Department for a Research Associate in Novel Dry Battery Electrode Deposition. This is an ideal position for someone looking to utilise their skills within an expert group of researchers across different research institutions; and to make an impact in the area of design and development of new ways to process dry powdered lithium-ion battery electrodes that are formed without solvent into a battery electrode.

This Faraday Institution funded research project (Nextrode) is well established, both in Sheffield and across our partner institutions, and we have received additional funding for a second phase of the project for the next two years.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable hands-on experience in fabrication and electrochemical testing of battery electrodes. Expertise with coin, pouch and full cells would be a distinct advantage. You must have experience managing your time effectively when there are multiple ongoing project streams and ideally, you will demonstrate a track record of high-quality research.

Applicants should hold a doctorate (or be close to completion) in electrochemical, chemical engineering, materials science, or other physical science or relevant engineering discipline.
