The AV team designs, delivers, and manages technology in over 400 teaching, meeting, and performance spaces across campus. They also support a range of in-person and hybrid events across campus and the city of York.

The Role

As part of a devoted and supportive team, you will play a crucial role in supporting teaching, learning, and research across the University by providing and maintaining high-quality AV equipment and technical expertise.

The University calendar presents the opportunity to work on a varied range of activities to suit seasonal demand. There is no typical day, but depending on the time of year, activities might include:

• Troubleshooting and ensuring smooth operation of AV systems.
• Providing remote or in-person technical support to our community
• Designing and operating sound, lighting, and video equipment
• Supporting hybrid events using Zoom Events and Webinars.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of new AV technologies.

Typical working hours will be 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, 4 or 5 days Monday to Friday. You will be required to cover events outside of these hours when needed. Working patterns are managed through a flexitime system and we encourage a healthy work-life balance.
