The Sports Service is seeking enthusiastic, pro-active and customer-focused individuals to join our friendly sports service team. The ideal candidates will be passionate about sports and fitness, with a keen eye for detail and excellent customer service skills. This is a new role for the Sports Service with part-time evening and hourly paid options available.
The role holder will work as part of a team to ensure that sports facilities and equipment are set up for various users and that the facilities are clean, tidy and welcoming. They will also provide information and support to users of the sports and fitness facilities.
The role holder will also provide reception services for visitors to the Sports Service, answering queries and handling incoming phone calls and e-mails. They will also receive and process memberships for the Sports Centre and take court and class bookings.
Applicants should have a helpful and positive attitude, excellent communication skills, possess strong organisational and time management skills, and be able to work confidently under their own initiative or with direction.
The ideal candidate will have previous work experience in a sports centre or leisure environment and be confident using of booking or similar IT systems. Training will be given in relation to the specific system used by the Sports Service.
The role is predominantly based at the University Sports Centre, but the role holder will also work at Wilberforce Road Sports Ground, Fenners Cricket Ground and the Indoor Cricket School.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
