About the role

We are looking for a Part-Time (18.5 hours) Senior Lecturer in Primary or Secondary Initial Teacher Training and Education to support our growing School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provision. Upon appointment the post-holder's title will be Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Training and Education (ITT/E). As a member of the ITT/E team within the Institute of Education, you will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, research and consultancy within this field of expertise. Effective team working on and off campus is fundamental to this role, as is building and maintaining relationships with our SCITT partners across England. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability and willingness to teach a variety of theoretical, professional and subject specific modules. With strong, demonstrable digital capabilities, you will use innovative and inclusive learning strategies which serve to motivate and support students to achieve outstanding academic and professional outcomes. Teaching on this programme is a combination of face to face and remote therefore highly effective digital pedagogical skills are required.

A successful candidate will need to value the student experience, teaching quality and standards. We want to appoint a future facing, innovative candidate who is fully conversant with current debates within education to inspire the teachers of the future. Having just been awarded 'Outstanding' from Ofsted for our teaching programmes, we are looking for a Senior Lecturer to continue our teaching excellence and deliver to the high expectations of our learners.
