About the role

This post offers the right candidate the opportunity to bring a new profession to the University of Derby and be an innovator in how healthcare education is delivered.  We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapy academic to join the School of Allied Health and Social Care at the University of Derby and support the launch and delivery of the newly validated Physiotherapy programme.  

You will be responsible for working with the Head of Discipline and the Programme Lead to ensure efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accordance with the University’s strategic objectives in order to provide an exceptional student experience. This is an innovative programme, with a focus on digital developments in healthcare and the evolving nature of the profession. The BSc curriculum is already approved, with an apprenticeship programme currently in development in partnership with local health and social care providers. 

To be successful you will:

  • Be registered as a qualified Physiotherapist with the HCPC
  • Hold a good Honours Degree in a relevant subject discipline
  • Be experienced in the delivery of physiotherapy education (this may include clinical education, formal teaching, support/mentoring, curriculum design and development)
  • Be able to think critically and promote innovation and creativity

This role will be hybrid, based at our Kedleston Road campus when onsite.

This is a 0.6 FTE role; the specific working pattern to be discussed at interview.
