The Department of History at the University of Liverpool seeks to appoint an individual to a fixed-term post in Eighteenth-Century History (Teaching & Scholarship) to provide maternity leave cover. You will be expected to have research expertise in and experience of teaching Eighteenth-Century History. You will have specific responsibility for convening and delivering the second-year optional modules HIST219 ‘Enlightenment’ and HLAC200 ‘Living the Global Eighteenth Century’, together with participating in team-taught undergraduate and postgraduate modules to include HIST105 ‘History Matters’, HIST106 ‘Presenting the Past’, HIST320 ‘Uses of the Past: History Impact Module’, and the Eighteenth-Century Pathway on the MA in History.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will undertake moderation of other History modules and act as an academic advisor to undergraduate students.
You will work under the administrative direction of the Head of Department undertaking administrative and leadership responsibilities as required within the Department, School, or University.
For candidates who do not yet have Fellowship of Advance HE, there will be opportunities to work towards accreditation during your time in post. A full list of duties can be found in the attached job description.
This is a fixed-term post from 1 September 2024 until 30 June 2025.
