The Role
Ravensbourne’s internationally renowned BA Fashion course has a strong heritage and reputation for producing highly employable graduates with a distinctive personal design identity equipped with excellent technical and future proof skills. Our graduate work has been recognised by the British Fashion Council presenting final collections at London Fashion Week and Paris.
The Fashion Atelier is looking to recruit a highly skilled fashion technician specialising in Haute Couture and Ready to Wear sample machining to strengthen and complement the existing atelier team.
The Candidate
The candidate will show a commitment to ensuring the Atelier runs safely, efficiently and within best working practices. They will possess excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to supervise in a welcoming and authoritative manner.
The post holder will have a strong international fashion outlook with extensive industry experience, as well as experience in effective teaching and learning methods in higher education.
Extensive knowledge of sample machining, manufacturing, 3D product outcomes and working knowledge of pattern cutting will be essential.
Knowledge of digital tools is an advantage, this is in line with our commitment to blending traditional skills and new technologies to optimise future employability.
The candidate will have ability to engage, motivate students directly with their discipline and mentor Level 4, 5 and 6 cohorts towards industry ready profiles.
