The Artificial Intelligence research area is concerned with one of the three research strands of the School and has contributed some of the most cited publications for the REF2021. The AI group has a strong track record in computational intelligence, data science and its applications to transportation, vision, medicine and game AI. The institute is a world pioneer in fuzzy sets, grey systems, and evolutionary computing.
