About the role

You will join a team of experienced and friendly staff who deliver pre-registration and post-registration nursing and healthcare courses at the University of Derby.

The post is based in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, one of three Schools within the College of Health, Psychology and Social Care. However, you will also be required to work collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines within the College. The subject area offers programmes ranging from those for unqualified support staff, to Honours, Masters and Doctoral Degrees, which include Community Specialist and Advanced Nursing Practice.

The College of Health, Psychology and Social Care upholds the overall mission of the University by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities; promoting academic enquiry and the advancement of knowledge using a variety of methods of delivery. We are committed to the Widening Participation agenda and have a good record of meeting the needs of local stakeholders. User and carer involvement in course development and delivery is an essential aspect of our work.

We are looking for an innovative and creative individual who will contribute to enhancing the quality of healthcare education across the Pre-registration Adult Nursing Programmes, as well as taking forward the research and scholarship agenda. The role will contribute to programme development and delivery across the suite of programmes offered by the department, ranging from Foundation Degree to Doctorates as appropriate.

It is extremely important that you not only understand the student experience, but that you genuinely enjoy making a positive impact for them both in and out of classes, focussing on providing an excellent student experience.
