Role Description
Following recent grant successes, including significant funding to expand our York Evidence Synthesis Group, CRD is looking for a Senior Research Fellow in Evidence Synthesis.

About Us:
CRD is an academic research department that specialises in and is at the forefront of evidence synthesis. Our systematic reviews and other evidence synthesis projects span a broad range of health and public health areas to provide best evidence to inform policy and practice decisions, and are underpinned by a programme of methodological development and commitment to knowledge exchange.

Your Role:
As a Senior Research Fellow, you will lead evidence synthesis and health technology assessment projects within our existing research programs, which are funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). You will also have the opportunity to develop your own research ideas and projects, contributing to the growth and leadership of the department.

Why Join CRD?

  • Research Excellence: CRD has a long-standing reputation for research excellence and achieved a top 10 position in REF2020.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work with colleagues including clinicians, information specialists, health economists, statisticians and systematic reviewers in team-based projects. Benefit from the mentorship and support of our departmental leadership team.
  • Flexible Working: Enjoy hybrid and flexible working patterns, including part-time hours and partially remote work options within the UK.
  • Inclusive Community: We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture where we can all be ourselves and everyone can thrive.

Who We’re Looking For:
Candidates should have an established track record in the field of evidence synthesis and be enthusiastic about evidence synthesis, evidence informed policy and practice and advancing health research. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and particularly encourage applications from people who identify as being from the Black African and Caribbean Heritage community, Asian, or other ethnic backgrounds that are underrepresented in the University of York.

This is a full-time position, but we are open to part-time arrangements (at least 60% of full-time, or 3 days per week).

Interview Date: To Be Confirmed

For informal enquiries: Please contact Vanda Castle (vanda.castle@york.ac.uk) who will be happy to arrange a call or email discussion with an appropriate member of the research team.

Discover more about us at CRD Website and apply to be part of a team dedicated to making a positive impact on health outcomes.

The University strives to be diverse and inclusive – a place where we can ALL be ourselves.

We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University.

We also encourage applications from women for senior roles.

We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. #EqualityatYork
