Faculty

The Faculty of Business and Law is the largest faculty by size at DMU Dubai, and is home to a diverse range of courses at Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. The faculty equips students with the skills and specialist knowledge to prepare and develop successful industry professionals with the knowledge and expertise to make a significant difference to the world of business that they live and work in.

Role

The purpose of the role of a Lecturer is to contribute to our student centric teaching and support students by teaching and guiding them at various levels of programmes that the department and university offers. The expectation from a lecturer includes: preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars and workshops, using innovative teaching techniques appropriate for the level of teaching, taking up Module Leadership where offered and available, marking assessments and providing appropriate level of feedback, project and dissertation supervision and personal tutoring.

The purpose of the role of a Senior Lecturer is the same as the above, with the additional responsibility of developing teaching content, setting assignments, leading on module and/or program leadership as offered as well as an increased responsibility towards creating positive impact towards the goals of the University. Ideal candidates will demonstrate leadership in program development and support for the teaching teams, including mentoring colleagues on the team.  

While we are open to specialisms of all areas within the domain of Business Management, of particular interest are applicants who exhibit experience and expertise in and can teach one or more of the following:

• Corporate social responsibility and sustainability
• Project Management
• Fashion Management and Marketing
• Business Finance
• Leadership and Management

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in applicants who have adequate teaching experience in the UK or at a UK institution across the world. Having a PhD or a DBA in the field is a positive that will be counted alongside your industry experience (if any) and your aspiration.

Candidates must have demonstrable teaching experience in business related disciplines at UG and/or PG levels. You should have a collegial approach to work and be willing to work positively within team environments. You will strive towards teaching excellence and demonstrate familiarity with innovative teaching methods and techniques.
