The University of Northampton is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our expanding physiotherapy team. This is an exciting time to join the University as we look to expand our physiotherapy portfolio to include undergraduate and apprenticeship routes in addition to our existing pre-registration masters.
The post will provide opportunities and a platform for you to demonstrate leadership capabilities within the physiotherapy team and wider faculty and stakeholder initiatives.
Your post will include leading and teaching current modules as well as contributing to the development of new provision. The University of Northampton’s teaching ethos is underpinned by a contemporary and research informed approach, utilising active blended learning to enhance student engagement and develop the critical problem-solving skills required in current and future practice.
The post requires effective communication across the faculty to develop teaching and learning that embeds inter professional collaboration, service user engagement and simulation-based learning within our modern campus environment.
You will be supported by an existing programme team and be in a position to provide learners with expert subject knowledge as well as supportive pastoral advice. You will have opportunities to engage with practice partners and clinical educators through the post, to ensure an ongoing high quality placement experience for students across a variety of sectors and settings.
This post is subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed.
About you
You will have established experience within UK Higher Education and be able to demonstrate knowledge of applying quality assurance processes and professional body regulations to physiotherapy education. You will have practical experience of applying and evaluating teaching pedagogy to contemporary physiotherapy topics.
Through a contemporary, research informed, inclusive and forward-thinking approach to physiotherapy practice you will enrich the student experience through their journey from application through to graduation. To ensure you are able to provide this you will have experience of providing pastoral support to university students as well as more roles such as placement visiting tutor and dissertation supervisor.
To be successful in this post you will have a high level of organisational, prioritisation and team working skills. Due to the varied and high paced nature of this post, effective time management skills are needed to work across different work streams with varying deadlines.
You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have evidence of active continuing professional development relevant to Physiotherapy.
