The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint a Fixed Term Teaching Associate from 01 September 2024 until 31 August 2026 (0.6 FTE). The post offers an opportunity for early career starters to increase their skills through an early career role in a vibrant and distinguished community of Classicists.  Applications are invited from those with an interest in teaching Ancient Greek and Latin. The teaching will principally involve intensive reading classes in Greek and Latin for students without A level qualification or equivalent at entry.  The successful applicant will also be expected to take a full part in the Pre-term IG language teaching and as marker and/or assessor of language papers across the Tripos. Candidates will need to show evidence of the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Evidence of ability to teach Greek and Latin language effectively, and at all relevant levels, including ab initio;
  • Evidence of ability to teach Greek and Latin texts from a variety of genres;
  • Ability to play an effective role in the life and work of the Faculty as a whole;
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
