Role
The Leicester School of Pharmacy has an excellent reputation for the delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Leicester School of Pharmacy has three UG programmes, including the highly regarded BSc in Forensic Science. The dedicated facilities include multiple laboratories, and two crime scene spaces designed to replicate current practice.
We are recruiting for a highly motivated Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Forensic Science/ Molecular Biology. This vacancy is a maternity cover for up to 12 months, or upon the return on the postholder, whichever is sooner. You will be a key part of the team and will be responsible for the delivery of teaching as well as undertaking other responsibilities and duties normally expected with the role. You will join an enthusiastic team working in modern teaching and research facilities.
Ideal Candidate
You should have a BSc. (Hons.) degree (or equivalent qualification) in biology, molecular biology, forensic science, or a related discipline. A PhD or equivalent professional Forensic Science experience, and a good understanding of the application of genetics to forensic science are essential. Experience of teaching at HE level is desirable, but not essential for this role. You may be expected to contribute to research and consultancy income generation within the Faculty. We also place high value on contributions to academic citizenship activity in the School. You will contribute to teaching within the School, focussing on human genetics and DNA analysis and will also be encouraged to contribute to research and administration within the School and Faculty.
