About the role
King’s College London is seeking candidates at all levels of experience with the drive and passion to deliver high quality customer service to support our strategic aims. This is an ideal opportunity to commence or further your career in Higher Education administration.
The School of Education, Communication and Society are looking for a Programme Officer to join our education team supporting teaching across the School.
The Programme Officer will support students and academic staff as the first point of contact for queries, whether face-to-face, via phone or electronic media. They are responsible for essential work to support the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and for ensuring that student lifecycle activities run smoothly, ensuring that our students and staff experience our services in a seamless and effective manner. With support to develop a working knowledge of regulations and processes, the Programme Officer is a valued and trusted member of the team with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
This is a full-time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until June 10th 2026.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft documents and correspondence
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, adept at meeting tight deadlines and managing competing priorities, with a willingness to seek and utilise support as needed.
- Ability to work as part of a team and relate to a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong numeracy skills and the ability to analyse complex data
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy at all times
- Understanding of good customer service, and ability deliver this to a high standard
Desirable criteria
- Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience
- Experience of working as an administrator in higher education
- Experience of working in a customer-facing environment
