About this role
The University is seeking applicants with a bias towards BMS and controls and this is an exciting opportunity to join a team of existing Estates professionals in delivering outstanding maintenance; building alterations; and improvement projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering our carbon ambitions (see our commitments here) and reducing our energy consumption. As well as being a pivotal part of the day-to-day operations of how, when and why our spaces are conditioned.
The University has a diverse mix of buildings, of various ages and this role will play a key role in the future development of the Estate.
About you
The University is seeking applicants with a bias towards BMS and controls we therefore need experience in both hardware and software elements.
You will require experience of monitoring systems; fault finding and progressing resolutions (we use external contractors, so experience with managing contractors could be beneficial). On some occasions it may be necessary to prepare specialist briefs or designs for external contractors or internal stakeholders.
Due to the nature of Estates activities you’ll be required to occasionally attend construction sites, plant areas, or other campuses. So, please ensure you will be able to manage these conflicting demands and have experience in managing time efficiently and effectively.
Our specialist engineers are responsible for infrastructure within various areas including: Security Systems (Access Control; CCTV; Intruder); Fire Alarm Systems, IT/Telephony Infrastructure and BMS (HVAC Monitoring) and look forward to you joining our team.
Where is this role based?
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
However, there could be activities as part of this role at any of our Campuses.
