The Coordinator is the first point of contact for all new enquiries, responsible for small- to medium-sized events from initial contact to contract, as well as wide range of processes which support effective marketing and delivery, such as the creation of digital and offline content, including webpages, social media and reference information.

The University’s award-winning Conferencing & Events team is responsible for the promotion and operation of the dedicated conferencing facilities within the Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC), Strathclyde’s flagship events venue, as well as the delivery of University corporate events and hospitality.
In academic year 2023/24, almost 47,000 delegates attended over 600 events hosted in TIC. Strathclyde’s commercial conferencing activity generated income in excess of £2.7M, returning a surplus of more than £600K to the University and helping to drive strategic collaboration between academia, research, and industry.
Working within the Business Development team, the Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator plays a critical role in the promotion and delivery of commercial conferencing and event activity, providing effective administrative support to the commercial Conferencing & Events team generally, and to the Business Development function specifically.

The role is essential in driving commercial revenue and delivering first-class customer experience that the University’s Conferencing & Events team has developed over more than 10 years. It will appeal to a motivated individual with experience of selling, marketing and delivering conferencing and events activity, who has an eye for detail and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
