About us
The UK Dementia Trials Network (UK DTN) aims to accelerate early phase clinical trial set up and delivery in dementias and other neurodegenerative diseases. It is expected that UK DTN will grow to a network of over 20 sites across all four nations of the UK over five years
The UK DTN Coordinating Centre team based at UCL and UCLH will be responsible for the strategic set up and delivery of the whole programme, including the implementation of the UK-wide network.
The Director of UK DTN is Professor Cath Mummery who holds senior positions in both UCL and UCLH and who leads both the NIHR Dementia Translational Research Centre and UK DTN.
About the role
Performing a pivotal role within the UK Dementia Trials Network (UK DTN), you will be responsible for providing high level EA support to the Director of UK DTN and comprehensive administrative assistance to the UK DTN operations team. You will work closely with stakeholders across UCL and UCLH departments, as well as external partners from charity, industry, government etc. to support the smooth and effective functioning of the network.
The post is available immediately and funded by UK Dementia Trials Network UK (via NIHR BRC funding) to 30 June 2026 in the first instance.

About you
You’ll be educated to A level (or equivalent) and have experience of providing senior level administrative and secretarial support to individuals in a leadership role operating in a complex organisation. Experience of managing a busy diary, of organising and servicing high level committee meetings, of working unsupervised and taking responsibility for meeting targets, and of working within a higher education, clinical, or research environment is essential. Excellent written and communication skills, the ability to work under pressure and the ability to form strong working relationships are also a requirement.
This role does meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
