About the role
This position is funded by CRUK to investigate the clinical potential of advanced metabolomic-based techniques in the early detection and diagnosis of ovarian cancer. The Research Associate post will focus on the use of innovative mass spectrometry platforms that allow direct analysis of human samples to rapidly detect ovarian cancer.
What you would be doing
The post holder will generate new, and use already available, mass spectrometry data from human samples to perform relevant experimental and data analyses. The ideal candidate will have experience with mass spectrometry data analysis and interpretation and a strong understanding of mass spectrometry techniques. The Research Associate will be expected to develop and optimise workflows for mass spectral data analysis using appropriate software and programming tools. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the design of experiments and provide input on data generation protocols to ensure robust and reproducible results.
